Partnership working in COVID-19
Now, perhaps as never before, the HCP Value of Teamwork is critical. All HCP staff are doing their bit to support colleagues, clients, and users.
Michelle Barron, Kieran Connolly, Zoe Glover and Julie Cox at Peterborough Hospital have developed a number of initiatives including donated Fruit & Veg boxes for frontline hospital staff, provision of hot beverages for hospital staff – funded by Project Co – and working with Service Providers to utilise old electronic tablets to act as ‘Family Contact tablets’ so patients can stay in touch with relatives whilst they are hospitalised.
The Derby Hospital team have been working in partnership and all ISS and Compass restaurants and retail outlets are supporting the Trust in providing every member of staff with a free meal every day. The team featured in the #UHDB Making a Difference Newsletter.
Holly Bunning and Arlind Zenel at Gravesend Metropolitan Police Training Centre, have worked collaboratively with FM service providers to provide innovative support solutions to key workers such as an ‘on site grocery stall’ where staff can purchase essential food items when their shift ends and before they head home. The team have received some brilliant feedback from the customers:
“Thank you for making my Mother’s Day meal happen”
“Such a relief we can now get pasta, my son only eats pasta”
“It’s great to see great teamwork, thank you for helping us all”
HCP and ISS at Barnsley Schools have been working collaboratively to support families, creating a two week food hamper for families to collect safely, a letter to parents and a ‘cook me at home’ booklet, featuring, simple, fun and tasty recipes for children to create at home with the hamper ingredients.
They have also produced learning at home materials which have been issued to schools and parents. See below for links to resources.
Iqbal Daya at North Middlesex University Hospital worked with investor InfraRed to arrange for 500 Easter Eggs to arrive at North Middlesex and 300 at Central Middlesex Hospital for Trust distribution.
Upcoming BBC Panorama Film
Coventry and Rugby Hospital will appear on BBC Panorama on 20th April.
The Gold team have invited BBC Panorama onsite at UHCW to film a show in order to convince Midlander’s to stay at home during COVID-19 Lockdown and show the impact of not doing so on the hospital staff.
Arts at Derby
Morale boosting arts projects at Derby Hospital have included:
A live call out for staff to nominate their colleagues as superheroes – working with an artist to create superhero portraits of staff
