Modus Services achieve ISO 44001 certification

Jon Brazier explains how Modus Services have gained certification through collaboration.

“In September, Modus Services achieved certification for ISO44001, Collaborative Business Relationship Management Systems. This recognises the relationship between Modus and DIO (our Client) and our FM Contractors Amey and Skanska. We are one of the first to achieve such recognition across three Partners and without any non-conformances. This significantly supports DIO whose certification extends across the entire organisation and relies on its key suppliers to work collaboratively with it.

The Standard ensures that collaborative working practices are designed and maintained across all partners to minimise risk, maximise joint effectiveness and ultimately deliver benefits that align with joint objectives, values and behaviours. Modus will now be working with Skanska and Amey in order to support their certification in early 2019.

It has been a valuable experience in progressing towards certification, working directly with the Institute of Collaborative Working and Partner SERs (Senior Executive Responsible). It has meant that we have had to review our working relationships, behavioural fit, organisational fit, undertaken surveys, created a joint risk register that focuses on relationship and effectiveness risks, developed a benefits tracker and held joint PFI Days with all partners and ultimately customers.”
