The building was completed in September 2017 and opened to the public on the 8th December the same year. It is built on the outskirts of town and incorporates the surrounding countryside into the design.

“I am sure that all of your staff are doing an excellent job through these very difficult times, however, I would like to make special mention of Linda Thompson who manages the Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary NPD project on behalf of Highwood Health – I am the public interest director on the project. Linda has conducted herself with exemplary professionalism in the face of enormous operational pressure on site, ably assisted by her colleagues Lauren hyslop. Linda and Lauren are a credit to HCP and we are extremely lucky to have them on board. In a similar vein, Ronald McNeil, who manages the City of Glasgow College project on behalf of Glasgow Learning Quarter, has also successfully maintained his working arrangements to a remote basis and is maintaining a firm control of the current issues while sustaining open dialogue between the parties. With the HCP resources in place, I am confident that we can ride out this storm and return to business as usual in a stronger place. I trust that you are safe and well and wish you all the best throughout this period of lockdown.”
