About The Project

Transform Schools (Knowsley) Limited (Project Co) were appointed Preferred Bidder for the Building Schools for the Future Project (BSF) in December 2006. The Project involved the replacement of Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council’s existing eleven secondary schools with seven new build Learning Centres procured under a single Private Finance Initiative contract with a term of 25 years following service commencement at all new Learning Centres. On 19 May 2011 an amended and restated Project Agreement was signed to incorporate a Special Educational Needs (SEN) facility into the BSF scheme.
The construction works for the Learning Centres commenced in December 2007 and were completed in 2009, operational dates were between 2009 and 2010, excluding the Special Education Needs Facility (SEN) which was constructed and became operational in 2012.
