About The Project

The 30-year Sirhowy Enterprise Way concession covers the design, build, finance and operation of improvements to the A4048/A472 strategic highway network between the north of Blackwood and the east of Pontllanfraith. The scheme consists of a new single 3.4 km carriageway and two key cross valley links (total road length 4.3 km).

The road was opened to traffic in December 2005 and forms a gateway to Oakdale Business Park which was constructed to help regenerate the areas of Blackwood, Oakdale and the surrounding communities.
