Southmead Hospital donate equipment to Malawi

Here at Southmead Hospital we are currently in the process of working through a variation which will change one of the wards from a dental speciality to minor operations.

One consequence was that we had some surplus PFI dental equipment, which was now no longer required.

As this equipment was still relatively new and in good working order, we looked into whether there were any organisations which could benefit.

After some research and with support from the Project Co Board we came across Dentaid, a charity who offer free dental care for homeless and vulnerable people both in the UK and abroad.

After speaking with them and hearing about the great work they do, it seemed that the equipment would be of use for their project in Malawi. Dentaid provided pictures of the project the equipment is going to. They were incredibly grateful for our donation and stated;

“The THC’s support will help us to provide safe, free treatment for people who are suffering”.
